Please come into the center today to find out more about training funds available within an in demand occupation, additional eligibility requirements can be reviewed with you during a scheduled appointment with one of our customer service representatives. What defines a dislocated worker you may ask? Please review the following criteria:

• Did you lose your job by being laid off or have you received a notice of termination?

• Are you self-employed but your business is suffering due to economic decline or natural disaster?

• Are you a man or woman who previously relied on a spouse to support your household, but you have lost that support and are currently unemployed?

• Have you been unemployed for at least 15 weeks and are unlikely to return to the same occupation?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, we may be able to update your skills! Tomorrow’s Workplace can fund training through eligible training providers in the tri-state region. In order to qualify through the Center, you must be determined a dislocated worker and you must reside in Rockland County, NY.

Education and Training

Many of the skills that you need to be successful in today's workplace require that you obtain education or training. Tomorrow's Workplace may be able to assist you if you are interested in receiving training that is not offered at our center. Our counselor works one-to-one with each customer to determine your needs. Please contact the center if you are interested.

Computer Training

Without computer skills it is difficult to secure a job in today's labor market. Tomorrow's Workplace provides CD-ROM based, interactive computer training. The training is one-to-one so customers work on the programs they want independently but within a supervised, scheduled & monitored time frame so that additional assistance can be provided when needed. Each training CD has an optional pre and post test to determine your level of expertise. Exercises and challenges are given throughout the tutorial. CD-ROM training is offered in the following programs:
