COMPUTER BASICS FOR NON-TECHIES UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS – COURSE 1
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course, Computer Basics for Non-Techies Course 1, customers will learn:
  1. What is a computer – hardware and input and output devices.
  2. The console.
  3. Setting up a home office computer system – software, application programs, OS systems, word processing, databases and communications.
  4. Computer memory – the processor, bits and bytes, storage, backup and optical drives.
  5. Creating a multimedia computer system – modems, CD-ROM speeds, access rates and storage capacities.
  6. Understanding portable computers.

COMPUTER BASICS FOR NON-TECHIES UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS – COURSE 2
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course, Computer Basics for Non-Techies Course 2, customers will learn:

  1. Software – what it is, how it is applied and managing it all.
  2. Computer operating systems – multimedia.
  3. Working with different software.
  4. The internet – e-mail, commercial services and bulletin boards.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000– Professional
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Windows 2000 Professional, customers will learn to:

  1. Install, examine and identify the components of the Windows 2000
  2. Select items with the mouse pointer.
  3. Understand the use of various icons and the taskbar.
  4. Delete and restore documents by using the Recycle Bin.
  5. Access Windows features by using the Start button.
  6. Work with Windows by using accessories, buttons, menu items, move/size, and close/open.
  7. Work with multiple programs by using the taskbar to arrange, add to and switch.
  8. Become accustomed to common Windows program techniques by experimenting with accessories – calculator, card file, notepad, paint and word pad.
  9. Use the My Computer icon to observe drives, folders, options and floppies.
  10. Manage files and folders using the directory tree, display, taskbar icons, move, undo, copy and launch applications.
  11. Display the content of disks and sort and locate documents by using the Windows Explorer.
  12. Access and use the Help features.
  13. Introduction to and examples of multitasking.
  14. Personalize the desktop items such as the date/time, fonts, display, screen saver and mouse.
  15. Customize the Windows taskbar, start menu and shortcuts.
  16. Enhance the Windows 2000 setup, details and guides.
  17. Understand the basics of Windows – open, minimize, maximize, close, size, scroll bars, taskbar and drop list.
  18. Use the menu bar, shortcuts, dialog box buttons and gray items.
  19. Start and shut down Windows, access programs, documents, settings and run using the Start button.
  20. Utilize the taskbar to open, close, cascade, tile, minimize and customize files.
  21. Work with Windows accessories such as characters, paint and WordPad.
  22. Use Help to search, find and index contents.
  23. View file icons, details and lists of files.
  24. Drag files using undo, move, copy files and right click.
  25. Find files by name and date.
  26. Understand the computer and system maintenance including disk space, error check, backup and defrag.
  27. Work with the Control Panel to program date/time and fonts.
  28. Display background features, screen savers and settings.
  29. Install printer properties and set defaults.
  30. Create and view shortcuts for the desktop and keyboard.
  31. Identify and troubleshoot various problems.

MICROSOFT WORD – BEGINNING
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Word – Beginning, customers will learn to:

  1. Use screen elements such as menu and scroll bars.
  2. Understand fundamentals of launching MS Word: the mouse buttons, MS Office toolbar, start menu, shortcuts and startup.
  3. Create, save and close a document.
  4. Open and search documents.
  5. Edit a document by using undo, redo, marking text, retype, spike text, move, drop and drag and navigation.
  6. Apply special features including highlighting, auto correct, auto text, auto format, shortcut menu and full screen.
  7. Apply and remove character and paragraph formatting such as attributes, painter, font menu, indentation, numbering and outline.
  8. Adjust margins, page breaks, paper size, columns, headers and paper source.
  9. Use MS Word proofing tools such as the spell checker.
  10. Print MS Word documents and envelopes.
  11. Access MS Word help using the help button and menu.

MICROSOFT WORD – INTERMEDIATE
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Word – Intermediate, customers will learn to:

  1. Create and use templates.
  2. Access wizards such as the fax wizard, address book, win menu and copy/paste.
  3. Apply and remove character formatting using basics, shade, color, effects, painter and spacing.
  4. Use special features such as symbols, switch documents, font list, format, field data and keyboard.
  5. Search a document using different criteria such as word forms, find and replace, whole word, formats and patterns.
  6. Change the appearance of paragraphs using styles.
  7. Create, modify and format tables.
  8. Perform calculations in tables.
  9. Create, layout and format columns.
  10. Use, create, open, customize and add data for fields, check boxes, drop-downs and tables.
  11. Add and use style techniques.

MICROSOFT WORD – ADVANCED
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Word – Advanced, customers will learn to:

  1. Customize the Word toolbar, menu, keyboard and screen.
  2. Figure, setup, create and index lists
  3. Format, run, list and edit macros.
  4. Insert and use graphics in a document.
  5. Create, format and design labels.
  6. Link objects from various documents and programs.
  7. Create and perform a mail merge.
  8. Develop a strategy for designing a document.

MICROSOFT EXCEL - BEGINNING
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Excel – Beginning, customers will learn to:

  1. Understand screen elements such as open, install, bars, navigate and control buttons.
  2. Enter values into a worksheet and edit the values by alignment, format, text, bold and sort.
  3. Save, open, use, close and delete workbooks.
  4. Format cells specifically by font, size, columns, date type, color text and borders.
  5. Use Excel’s built-in functions to summarize numbers such as, autofill, autosum and autocalc.
  6. Create charts using the chart wizard and toolbar.
  7. Prepare a worksheet for printing by using prview, margins, view all, setup, headers and footers, color, page setup and collapse.
  8. Customize the general and edit options of Excel as well as the toolbar.

MICROSOFT EXCEL – INTERMEDIATE
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Excel – Intermediate, customers will learn to:

  1. Link cells by copying, adding data, formulas and saving.
  2. Link data to a single cell by inserting and deleting rows, copying and auditing.
  3. Link data to external cells by moving sheets, renaming, creating references and shortcuts.
  4. Link data in two directions by formulas, copying, auditing and shortcuts.
  5. Create functions using the function wizard and formulas.
  6. Build and setup formulas using If, true/false and >=.
  7. Create and customize charts by applying formatting such as color, legend and graphics.
  8. Build advanced formulas using VLOOKUP functions.
  9. Format and manipulate dates.

MICROSOFT EXCEL – ADVANCED
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Excel – Advanced, customers will learn to:

  1. Create, manipulate, share and subtotal lists.
  2. Create and work with pivot tables.
  3. Retrieve database lists from the pivot wizard and queries.
  4. Use various dialog controls such as, PMT, drop list, index, spinners, scroll bar and finish up.
  5. Define and make formulas readable.
  6. Display and protect worksheet data.
  7. Record, run, edit and delete macros.

MICROSOFT ACCESS - BEGINNING
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Access – Beginner, customers will learn to:

  1. Understand database concepts and terminology.
  2. Open the different database objects.
  3. Design and create data tables.
  4. Modify existing data tables and enter new data.
  5. Design and create forms and subforms.
  6. Create queries by using specific records and fields from tables.
  7. Create reports by presenting data from specific tables.
  8. Customize and create applications.

MICROSOFT ACCESS - INTERMEDIATE
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Access –Intermediate, customers will learn to:

  1. Modify existing tables.
  2. Add and design customized tables.
  3. Generate data forms by using autoform.
  4. Edit forms and tables.
  5. Sort and search for data using restore, filter, by form and hide and freeze columns.
  6. Design queries that calculate, group, average, concatenate values and show top values.
  7. Customize report designs by grouping, sorting, summarizing data and adding a subreport.
  8. Create a merge letter by using Access with other applications.
  9. Create a report for mailing labels that can be used with data from different tables.

MICROSOFT ACCESS - ADVANCED
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course MS Access – Advanced, customers will learn to:

  1. Display table information through one to many relationships.
  2. Customize form designs by creating combo boxes and list boxes.
  3. Program fields and queries.
  4. Use action queries to update data values.
  5. Make forms more functional and automate tasks by creating macros.
  6. Display and start-up switchboards.
  7. Explore various security measures such as passwords, workgroups, accounts and permissions.

Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course – Internet – Executive Introduction, customers will learn to:

  1. Introduction to the Information Superhighway – what it is, how to gain access, who provides the services and how much it costs.
  2. Identify hardware requirements for getting online.
  3. How to get started with a full-service Internet provider.
  4. Understand and use internet features such as e-mail, FTP and newsgroups.
  5. Explore two different web browsers, their features and how they work.
  6. Get answers to frequently asked questions about the internet.

Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course – Internet – Doing Business On, customers will learn to:

  1. Formulate business strategies on the net by advertising.
  2. Create an Internet business plan.

  4. Use e-mail effectively for business.
  5. Use internet tools such as newsgroups, lists and gophers.
  6. Create, design and search different web strategies.
  7. Reach the customer through various channels.

LEARN HOW TO USE NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR
Upon successful completion of the CD-ROM training course – Learn How to Use Netscape Navigator, customers will learn to:

  1. Understand the Internet and getting connected online.
  2. Examine and work with Netscape.
  3. Examine the role of a web browser and browse the web using Netscape Navigator.
  4. Look at successful home pages and web sites and how they are stored.
  5. Configure Netscape for faster navigating.
  6. Customize Netscape’s color, font images and sound files.
  7. Learn advanced searching techniques.
  8. Get resources from the entire Internet outside of the web; TelNet, FTP, Newsgroups and Search Engines.
  9. Learn how to send e-mail using Netscape.
